New Year's Flu Update

Happy New Year!

Science Daily is noting that the source of the bird flu infection in China that caused the recent death continues to be unknown.

Recombinomics notes the same thing.

Glaxo says it would like to work together with other vaccine manfactureres on the pandemic, but needs anti-trust waivers to make it work.

Indonesia says bird flu is under control there.

The inventions keep on coming. This Chinese invention will turn water into disinfectant.

The Arizona Republic reports that some of the bird flu funds are going to go to tighter border controls...what they plan to do with the migrating birds is not clear.

From Baltimore, farmers are trying hard to make sure their flocks stay safe--from the flu, and from culling.

Recombinomics has this report that four children have been hospitalized in Turkey with flu-like symptoms. Stay tuned on this one.

Finally, a flu in review for 2005 from Recombinomics, who says that the flu extended its geographic reach and genetic diversity this year.
